Careers in the trucking industry are as diverse as the companies who offer them.

Most trucking companies in B.C. are small to medium size.  People in these companies may wear many hats and have no strictly defined job responsibilities.  For instance, they may be dispatchers, sales people and billing clerks all rolled into one.  Positions in these companies carry diverse responsibilities and may be shared with other employees.  This creates a close-knit and dynamic work environment.  Here, your opportunities to get involved, learn and advance are only limited by your own imagination and drive.

For those who prefer structure, there are also large trucking companies in B.C.  These offer clearly defined job responsibilities and a competitive work environment, which lets you advance through the ranks.  For people interested in managing their own business, becoming an owner-operator may be a good option.

No matter what lifestyle you prefer, no matter what you are looking for in a job and an employer, you will find it in trucking.  There truly is a niche for everyone.
